January 25* 2005, 5:51 pm I need to make a list of things that I need to get done in the next few weeks:

1. write up detailed rundown of series with episodes mapped out.
2. watch interview footage and mark ins and outs for terry
3. finish adding receipts for taxes
4. write piece for jane (email to Jackie by Sunday)
5. clean apartment (less spring cleaning and more swiffering and dusting

man, thats a lot. Considering that I work an average of 10-12 hours a day. I guess, if nothing else, it will make time fly.

I dont know if I have ever mentioned this, but I work in a boys club. By that I mean I am one of TWO girls that works here. There are other girls who work for the company but only one who sits anywhere near me or is in the same department. I have nicknamed my office junior high.

I work in junior high. There is horrible cattiness and an in crowd. Beware of the in crowd though. If you annoy anyone in the IN crowd youll be out. So in an office of about 20 people the in crowd is pretty much rotating at all times. No matter how good of a job you do, someone will tell you that you did a bad one or tell you who you are not as good as. If you do a bad job and just sit and web surf all day, no one will say anything. I dont get it either.

One big difference about working with boys is that they alert you when they poop. They make elaborate gestures of taking magazines into the bathroom and talk loudly about how dinner really cleaned them out. There are also way more pictures of half (or three quarter) naked ladies in my office than any office Ive ever been in. Its like being in a teenage boys bedroom. Classy.

When I started there were a lot of rumors surrounding the other woman that works here. Apparently she had slept her way to the top and had no actual skills. Later I found out that no, she had never had sex with any bosses at the company and some jealous guy I work with made it up to justify her being promoted over him. Nice, right?

If you thought you knew some bitchy women, you havent seen anything close to the guys that I work with everyday in jr. high.

Not that all of them are bad. But just like school, its the general feeling and the majority of the people. And this is not the first boy's club I have worked in. The last one was more just jerks who looked at porn (at work!) and talked about girls they'd like to have sex with. Step up or down?

Back to work!
