March 17* 2004, 4:19 pm i keep forgetting to post. well, and i feel like big brother is watching over me at this job. not literally. it's just that it is a tiny office so everyone can hear me typing. hence they can clearly hear when i am typing and not, say, filing or whatever i am "supposed" to be doing. yet, in 2 weeks no one has mentioned it. friday is my last day so i guess i don't care anymore anywho.

last weekend luds and i went to dc. he had an interview for afi (grad school) and my friend jeremy lives there. for those not in the know, it is pronounced "germy." and he was! he seemed to have a sinus infection or something the whole weekend.

it was his birthday and he couldn't even blow out the candles for fear of infecting the adorable cake.

it was fun but very rushed around. i was exhausted when we got home on sunday night with the howieman.

a highlight was going to the air and space museum. they had a pretty sweet wright brothers exhibit going on. unfortunately i heard one of those lazy parents that i hate so much at museums.

kid says "what is this"

dad says "wright brothers exhibit"

kid says "who were they?"

dad says "two guys who wanted to fly a plane or something."

GRRR. the whole story is written all over the walls you idiot. why are people so lazy?! now his kids are learning to be lazy. vicious circle.

on the way down we ate at a truck stop at "roy rodgers." it was okay. i don't think i have had it before. there was a group of boys getting fried chicken and one got a roast beef sandwich, chicken nuggets and fries. the fried chicken boys looked at him and said "what are you, on a diet??" and then laughed. apparently he is the healthy eater of the bunch. and then i got some cinnastix from cinnabon! i have never had cinnabon before but have seen them on the food network. they smell delicious but look like an ooey gooey mess. cinnastix are good because there is no frosting, hence not too dirty for in-car eating.

we took jeremy out to dinner in return for his genorosity and help. we went to some tex mex place, and anything mex is alright with me. but the best part was our waitress. as she was clearing the table she starts talking, and the talking doesn't stop for almost an hour. and it goes and goes and jumps around and is confusing and i make jeremy laugh himself red just by glancing over at him. i think she was just exhausted. it was fun!

then we had to go to birthday brunch the next day at NINE AM. yes. 9 in the morning. what's that you say? 9am is a breakfast time, not a brunch time? Yes, that is correct. it's too late to argue this now! we had to wake up at 730 am to get to this "brunch." but it redeemed itself by having the best mimosas i have ever tasted, and they came with the meal. they were made with fresh squeezed oj and crushed strawberries. heaven.

the food was good too and the restaurant was in a bookstore. mike couldn't pick between the two loves of his life: books and food, so he just seemed to suffer from overstimulation, finally buying some books as we left.

then i pissed off the entire staff of marriott country inn and suites. don't ask. i just won't be booking a room in my own name any time soon.

then we were off to target and back to nyc. target rocks. i can't say it enough!

i have some neat polaroids to show for the trip and jeremy took some nice pics on his digital camera.

i guess that sums it up!

my pitter patter on the keyboard must come to an end for today.
