i rarely write in here anymore. i blame the fact that i am barely ever online and when i am i am sending out resumes or something boring like that and then i crash for the night. i have been temping a lot lately but they are not great jobs, so i am still not making much money. i will have to borrow from mike this month. i hope he doesn't freak out too much- he did say that i could. i started babysitting for brandon and karen last week. babysitting as an adult is much different than babysitting as a 13 or 14 year old. now i treat them as though they were my own kids. and i worry and read them stories and am helping one get potty trained. when i was a teenager i could not care less about those things. just put them in bed and watch tv until the parents came home. the older kids i would play outside with. easy peasy. now i am getting really attached to the kids. bain and lily. i started to get sick over the weekend so i had to get rid of it fast before it became a serious illness. mike made me take it easy and made me tea and i took a lot of vitamins. it was nice. but seriously boring. i ended up cleaning the bedroom pretty well before lying down for the rest of the night. then i felt better and went to ikea with pete on sunday. pete is a guy who works with mike. he is really nice. he is a lot like my friend ben. it was really fun shopping with him. he is a guy who enjoys housewares shopping- no wonder he and luds get along so well. he helped me pick out stuff (best purchases were a HOT orange salad bowl and a comforter cover from the kids section- the day was a success!)and would tell me if something was too girly for the place etc... he even got the same comforter cover. twins! mike got in some boy time playing halo, but came home early, so early that i couldnt make his valentine's card. i was even using terry as a go-to on that one. terry dropped the ball, but covered it very well by pretending that i had a computer problem. nice save! when i babysat on tuesday though i found out the brandon and karen had whatever i was getting over the weekend but that the kids were feeling better. i felt fine. but when i left i immediately felt like crap. so i took a cab home and was getting in the shower, when i started feeling even worse. i ended up having to call in sick on wednesday. i am not babysitting tonight because brandon is home sick so he is with the kids. everyone is getting sick. stop breathing on me people! so basically, sickness has lost me between 100-150 dollars this week. great. i don't think that we are doing anything for valentine's day. mike said he wanted to take it easy at home. fine by me- it is cold as ass outside! i have to finish his present/card before tomorrow- which means not babysitting is kind of a good thing afterall. i am just giving him little homemade things- i think that will make him happy. in general things with us have maybe been better than they have ever been before. its weird. in a very nice way. we are having a cranium get together this weekend- more like a brunch than a champagne formal. however, kim and meighan have so much left over champagne that i bet we will be serving mimosas! cranium kicks ass. i can't wait to play! meighan is now dating someone she met through mike. the last couple to get together through me and mike is also the only one, and that is sharon and eric. which means we have a high success rate. good luck megey! and that is all! |
