** my neighborhood ** i live by a gas station. when i left my house there were four ice cream trucks gassing up all at the same time. i guess kids just had to go without ice cream while they all made a run to the citgo. i am torn between which laundromat to use- as they all have such amazingly nice people working in them. i feel guilty when i use one, for not using the other one. i imagine the super nice ladies seeing me going into the one around the corner and wondering what they did wrong. so i try to mix it up. when i had the doggie HOWIE last weekend i would walk him around the projects a few blocks away. and sometimes i would walk him by a group of hoodlums drinking booze out of brown paper bags. and howie is not shy. he would run right up to them all jumping and happy. and they would say "who's this cute boy (in a slight baby talk) and pet him and say "who's a good boy" and get mad at each other for "hogging him." it was nice. |
