i know i haven't written in here in a while. things have just been busy and i didn't care to stop and write everything out. well, mike came back for christmas break and it was awesome. it was long enough to feel like a real couple that sleeps in the same bed and has dinner together and all that. then he mentioned maybe not coming home for summer break and i took it... badly. wekeends just aren't cutting it. i don't get the point of having an absentee boyfriend. so, now we're trying to figure out how he can be slightly (lots) less selfish and actually make a compromise with me. the holidays came and were nice. unfortunately my grandpa was in intensive care for most of our trip down there, but since we had extra days, we stayed with my grandma, and we got to see him wake up and he made fun of us for a while. first thing he said to me when he got moved to a real room "chrissy, is that a zit on your chin?" "yes, grandpa" "whoo, it's a doozy." he was right, it was huge. then mike and i went back to kansas and i felt really guilty. i must say though, that mike surprised me in the hospital. he was all keeping a cool towel on grandpa's head and checking with the nurses about getting his medical records from his other hospital etc... he also went more than the real grand kids. seeing my grandpa in a hospital bed, not talking or moving, was really hard for us so mike would keep my grandma company in his room. it was nice of him. i will make a separate entry for what came next. |
