july 4th weekend was a good time. god bless america and all that.

on friday mike and i slept in, and then got up, and then napped. it was so rad. i can't even explain it. then we ran out to get party groceries for kim's par-tay.

then we came home and watched movies in bed. then we made dinner and dip and left for the fireworks at kim's.

the party was nice. very low key and most of the people are people i wish i saw more often. i got birthday presents from everyone. sharon got me guitar stuff- she is awesome like that. kim got me a boatload of teen novels. kick ass. one says "TEEN ANARCHY!!!" in the back cover description. i think i'll read that one first.

meighan got me a book of fondue recipes. i think she is hinting at me making more fondue. i am very quick on the uptake. there was lots of other stuff i'm leaving out like sweet buttons and pajama pants with trucks on them. yowza.

then we went on the roof and watched fireworks. it was pretty. not pretty enough to stand in a hot crowd for 4 hours and wait for them, but pretty enough to go to kim's and eat and drink hard lemonade and watch them.

mikki actually came out which was nice. so did sharon and eric. if ann and todd had made it, it would have been an evening of hermits mixing. i would have had to document it for historical purposes.

then saturday we spent the entire day in the apartment. that was the plan. most of it in bed. reading, and watching movies and making out. good times.

then sunday we went to rockland to take mike's parent's car back. we went to the mall and saw finding nemo (which ROCKED) and then snuck into 28 days later (which also ROCKED). then we went for greasy food at this old fashioned drive and and got ice cream at an ice cream stand after. it was good. except for when that june bug tried to make a home in my hair. that was not good at all.

then we came back, came home, and went back to bed. BED!

if there could be one theme of the weekend i would say it was "bed."
