this is an IM conversation that i had with my cousin this evening. she started a diary today that can be seen at http://fromthestorm.diaryland.com she is hilarious. our families (we are not blood related) are so freakin weird. Jettrocks: how is your dad? i have not talked to him in a while Fromthestorm: He's doing good. He's been busy house-hunting. He's renting now and he wants to buy. Jettrocks: oh yeah.is he looking with alicia? Fromthestorm: No. She lives somewhere else. Jettrocks: are they still married? Jettrocks: i really like alicia but boy oh boy,i could never be married to her Fromthestorm: Yes. Fromthestorm: LOL! Jettrocks: you know what i mean? Fromthestorm: Yes, I know exactly what you mean! Jettrocks: i feel badly for your dad Jettrocks: you know, my dad and anne broke up Fromthestorm: Yes. They are on an on-and-off relationship. It gets frusterating . . . for me. Jettrocks: i bet Jettrocks: and its not his choice either- she does it Fromthestorm: I KNOW!!! Jettrocks: she's nuts Jettrocks: he's not putting up with it as much anymore Jettrocks: i thought my dad and anne were doing well, and then my grandma tells me she moved out Fromthestorm: Yes. She's like, "Well, we decided blah blah blah," but everyone knows SHE does that deciding. Jettrocks: no kidding Jettrocks: and everyone knows how annoying she can be and how fed up your dad is Fromthestorm: Yeah. Jettrocks: and whats the point of being married and living apart???? Jettrocks: i really don't get that Fromthestorm: I know! Get a divorce, already!!! If you are going to tell everyone you're going to get one, then get one. I told Dad that he better get a divorce before he goes to buy a house. Jettrocks: he wants the divorce- or so he told me Jettrocks: she's being difficult Jettrocks: but also not working things out Jettrocks: no wonder i'm so good at relationships (sarcastically) Fromthestorm: LOL! Jettrocks: you have that to look forward to as well, i'm sure Jettrocks: thanks mom and dad! Fromthestorm: Hehe! Jettrocks: and mike's is messed up too but in a totally opposite way which makes it even harder Fromthestorm: Aww, sorry. Jettrocks: hey- at least we still live together Fromthestorm: Yeah. I wanna see your apt. Jettrocks: you'll have to come visit this summer! Jettrocks: layla is home? Fromthestorm: Yes. Fromthestorm: No, Laila is. Jettrocks: for how long? Fromthestorm: For until she finds her own place. Jettrocks: what happened with her being in alabama? Jettrocks: whats the dealio? Fromthestorm: She moved out away from her roommate. Jettrocks: what happened? Fromthestorm: I guess they weren't getting along. Jettrocks: but she couldn't stay in alabama? Jettrocks: were they "roommates"? Fromthestorm: I guess she just didn't want to. Fromthestorm: Yes. Jettrocks: since when have you been a vegetarian? Fromthestorm: Since February. Jettrocks: wow- good luck with that Fromthestorm: Yes. Jettrocks: both my old roomies and most of my friends are vegetarians Jettrocks: who's getting married? Jettrocks: you know what i meant by "roomates" right? Fromthestorm: Cool! Fromthestorm: My mom. Jettrocks: your mom?!?!?!! Fromthestorm: Oh, well, they were going out. Fromthestorm: Yes, Jettrocks: what the crap? Fromthestorm: hehe. Jettrocks: that's what i meant- just checking Fromthestorm: LOL! Jettrocks: is your mom marrying that guy?? Fromthestorm: Yes. Jettrocks: so he's divorced now? Jettrocks: she's getting married and she hasnt even planned it- what the hell is wrong with our messed up families? Fromthestorm: Yes, I know! Jettrocks: if mike and i start not getting along i dont think i will leave the state- laila is weird Fromthestorm: Laila is VERY weird. Jettrocks: is she still working or in school or something? Fromthestorm: She's working. She wants to go back to college to become a radiologist. *********************************** i swear our families are single handedly keeping the divorce rate in america so f-ing high. (shakes head with shame) its so frustrating. her mom is getting married this weekend and hasn't even planned it. her dad isn't even living with his wife and hasn't for over a year. my mom is on marriage number three and it may be the worst of the lot, yet she has been in this one the longest. and my dad's a chronic dater who's second wife was an idiot who was so dumb it hurt- but she had big boobs and was young. how awesome. since her he has sworn off marriage and even told me that it's overrated and to "just live with someone". i don't even know where my mom is right now- and it's not the first time that has happened. it's like we're the parents and they all get to be the irresponsible kids- at least the moms do. even when things are going good- my mom has a way of ruining it- even when she is 2000 miles away.
