i am actually putting together a new template. dawn of a new era around here!

i actually had the whole, entire weekend off. that's right. i didn't come into work ONCE. it was crazy. i felt really lazy like i was skipping out on work. but by yesterday i was used to it. laziness suits me i guess.

i guess spring is here. it has rained about 5 of the last 10 days. mr. softee trucks are now all over the streets. bikinis are in the stores. i am wearing a sweater, scarf and jacket. goddamn new york weather. spring starts in may.

i leave for LA in a few days. i am psyched. actual springtime weather and sunshine.

the two best things about yesterday occurred on tv:

1. that show "what i like about you" (with jenni garth)
guest starred luke perry as a one night stand from
high school who had come back. they made it into a big 90210 parody,
including a flashback to the spring fling with kelly
in that black and white dress! the best was luke
perry's wig and leather jacket ad husky voice and her
saying "you always seem so troubled- i like that".
and them talking about brenda being in france and
wanting to take a break. it even had fake 90210
guitar music in between all the scenes.

2. adrienne top model making out with peter brady and
then saying she is in love with him. saddest/most
endearing is that he thought it was set up by the show
and didn't believe her.

now time to peruse amazon for first season 90210 dvd release dates...

miami vice came out a few months ago. i should get that for luds. he is a sucker for the vice. my first tv crush was on davy jones of the monkees. my second tv crush, that happened in the third grade, was on don johnson. that's right, i was 8 and he was 40 and i was in luuuuuv. i would watch the show every wednesday (then later, friday) and i remember crying during the episode where he got married. i was eight!

there was also a slumber party that a popular girl had in 3rd grade. her name was charity and she had curly hair. i think she invited every girl in the class because i barely knew her and i got an invite. my grandma got me a voltron sleeping bag at a garage sale (i still have it!) so that i could go. it wasn't that i was unpopular, per se, but that i was friends with the boys, so to be at an all girls thing was strange.

but then we all bonded over our love for miami vice. a new episode came on and we all watched it together. then the girls picked my brain because they knew i was friends with the boys they liked. it was pretty fun.

elementary school was a hard time for me and i rarely got invited to parties, so that was a nice time.

there was another time when the same group of girls (in 4th or 5th grade) were obsessed with the new kids on the block but i didn't know who that was. so they would all sit around saying things like "joe is soooo cute" etc... and at the time i was on an all boys soccer team with a member named joe, danny, donny, and jordan.

after a while i thought these girls were obsessed with the boys on my soccer team. i was so confused. how did they know my soccer team?? how did they know joe was the youngest and was cute??? it turned out to all be a coincidence. if they had been talking about the beastie boys or motley crue i would have known*. later my grandma bought me new kids stuff when she found out i was the only one in my class that didn't have any.

*both were given to me by my mom when i was in 3rd and 4th grade, respectively.
