best weekend ever! and now it is over. but let's see. it started with a work party on thursday night. first of all, that meant getting off work early. score! second of all it meant delicious free food and still getting home in time to watch the OC. a first since christmas! then at 430am mike got to nyc. red eye. i was asleep and he got here and that was awesome. it was like dreaming but then he was really here when i woke up for work. it was really nice. during the day we had a third meeting about a show we have been pitching and.... it appears that we have been offered a development deal! wooo hooo. now, if only the lawyer would call. they were supposed to get in touch with us today and we heard nothing. i hope that's not a bad sign. friday night we went to the new MOMA and then to a dinner of steak frites and creme brulee in honor of valentine's day. it was delicious! so freaking good. moma is okay. it was so packed you could barely move. i am not a fan of packed museums. they did have a lot more work on display though. some rashenburg's that were really awesome and, of course, warhols and picassos that were nice. lots of ugly matisse, some nice klee, and a rad cindy sherman "movie stills" thingy. i motor through museums and only look at the things i like and cut everything else out. i am an art snob at museums. but more because i just don't like most of it. then we came home and thought it was like 2am because we were so beat. we went to bed and then realized it was only 11. hello sleeptown. saturday morning we had brunch with laura and richard at veselka. luds and i had the french toast and they had the blintzes. my food was okay. i find veselka to be hit or miss but mike LOVES it so he doesn't believe me. it was weird. so we went grocery shopping and came home and cooked. a big thing i miss about mike being here is cooking together. it really makes cooking more fun. then we watched the last amazing race and ate and watched snl and were lazy. sunday was for working, bagel eating, finishing of freaks and geeks, starting of the office season 2, and plenty of mario kart. then we rented a movie to do some research and went out to fortunado brothers for dessert. it was really nice. i don't do much and then mike comes into town and i remember how awesome our neighborhood is again. last night we also did some talking about the future and how we see things going. it went well. i think mike is starting to be less... oh, i don't know... crazy. he is making more sense and being a lot more reasonable. it was great. today came too soon but we slept in and went out to breakfast and did some more work. then mike showered, put his computer away and we left for the airport. he flew away and now i am at home. 7th heaven is on and it is a MUSICAL! ha ha, it's like someone thought "hmm, how could i make 7th heaven crappier? i know! make it a musical!". oh man, some of them can't even pretend to sing in tune! yes. even better. mike gave me orange tulips today for valentine's day and they started opening. they are really pretty. time to practice guitar and eat a sandwich! after such a great weekend, the apartment really seems sad and empty. it is weird. i don't think i like it. |
