September 16*2004, 6:47 pm there are two things from the road trip that i keep meaning to write about but never remember when i am in front of the computer. and they are both about radio shows.

there were two awesome ones.

one was called "delilah" and was this woman who apparently has the talent to pick out the perfect song for any occassion so people write in and then she helps them out of their song choosing jams or their letters would just be about someone and how special they are and she would pick the song that suits the person best. i think this show was national because it was on in more than one state we were in. the best was a mom whose daughter couldn't pick a song for the father/daughter dance at her wedding. the song delilah picked was like an old rocker doing a ballad but it was awful and even talked about "making love" which grossed me out tremendously. also, the two different times we heard the show she attributed "once, twice, three times a lady" to someone. ummm, lame.

the other one was in amarillo, tx and may be national and i just don't know it. it was a metal show hosted by alice cooper. holy moly it was awesome. he is freaking hilarious and his talking was better than his music playing. he told a long story about watching oprah and seeing the guests totally rocking out and then realizing that george michael was the guest. he said the women were practically tossing panties at him and he was like "ladies, wake up, he is very gay and totally out about it." then he hypothesized that maybe he is gay but his one fetish is oprah. that made me laugh for a long time. there is a fetish for anything afterall.

and to top it off he played metal. with awesome intros like "i played a show with these guys in toledo once, they like sushi". awesome.

i miss the open road.
